Sibelius & Nielsen

Included in this year's Newport Music Festival will be a Sibelius and Nielsen series. There will be six concerts of their chamber music, piano works, transcriptions and songs.

Beethoven String Quartet

The Copenhagen String Quartet will present sixteen of Beethoven's masterpieces in a six-concert series beginning on July 20th. 

Box Lunch Concerts

This festival favorite will take place Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 19. These concerts take place at The Elms, and there will be both a morning concert at 11 AM and an afternoon concert at 2 PM. The box lunch will take place at 1 PM.

Tickets are $45 to $50 per person.

Blithewold Mansion

On July 20 and 21 the Newport Music Festival will be presenting Chopin, Mozart, and a "Classical Twist by the Zink-Walsh Band.  

This will all take place at the Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum in Bristol. 

“The Kitchen at Blithewold” will be offering the choice of either a chicken salad or a roast vegetable sandwich with sides included to patrons at the event. 

Midnight Concerts

July 18 and 23 will each feature one hour of performances at Saint John the Evangelist starting at 11 PM. Those performing will include Swedish flutist Göran Marcusson and English pianist Tim Carey in a program entitled “Midnight Melodies”.

This event is priced to sell. 

Sunset Concerts

July 12, 21, 23 and 24 there will be Sunset Concerts at The Breakers. These one-hour concerts are set to begin at 7 PM. 

These concerts will offer a wide variety of music including the Festival debut of young Russian-American pianist Kristina Moditch. 

Violin Treasurers

July 25 the “Violin Treasurers” concert will begin at 7:30 PM at The Breakers.

Tickets are $100 for this formal occasion and benefit the Malkovich Memorial Fund.

This concert is a special memorial for Dr. Mark P. Malkovich who led the Newport Film Festival for decades until his passing in 2010.
