Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi said the Gaspee Days Parade Committee needs to raise about $35,000 -- or the parade could be in jeopardy of being canceled.
Picozzi is asking the community for support in the fundraising effort to enable the parade to take place on June 12.
A GoFundMe account has been set up and so far close to $11,000 has been raised.

"Many assume people march in the parade for free, that’s not the case. It takes a lot of money to put this on every year and the Gaspee Days Committee needs our help," he added.
