To spa or not to spa, is it really a question? Self-proclaimed Spa Goddess Alayne White, owner of Alayne White Spa in Bristol and Providence gives us the inside scoop on why every woman should let her inner goddess come out to play and why the spa is the perfect playground.
GoLocalProv: So, Alayne, you call yourself a self-proclaimed spa goddess? What’s behind that?
Alayne: I have worked in the beauty industry for over 25 years, including working for the very first spa to open in Newport, so my spa experience goes back. My love is service and I think my spa business has been an excuse to serve women (and men!) and make them feel their beauty.
GoLocalProv: What spa services are an absolute must?
Alayne: Facials are fabulous for glowing skin, pedicures are essential for healthy and sandal-ready toes and bikini and brow waxes to keep body hair in check.
GoLocalProv: Any advice for a first-time spa goddess?
Alayne: When visiting my spa, I want my guests to feel comfortable, all warm and fuzzy, like a visitor in my home. I recommend dressing comfortably, ask questions, look over the spa’s Web site and get a feel for the type of spa you want. Not all spas are created equal.
GoLocalProv: What are your personal spa service favorites?
Alayne: At my spa, I love the Delicious: a facial and massage all wrapped up into one treatment by one spa therapist in one room. I also am a big fan of the Hot Cat Bikini Wax, the grown-up version of the Brazilian so you are not totally bare!
GoLocalProv: Any other words of wisdom from the spa goddess herself?
Alayne: Smile more, Botox less. Learn to love who you are, learn to enjoy yourself and find ways to choose joy, use simple and great skincare that make you look and feel luminous, feel beauty all around you and attract more loving and joyful energy by the lives you touch.
