Hasbro Will Open Exhibit on the Creation of “Transformers”

Hasbro Inc., will unveil its new exhibit “From Sketches to Product Development of a Transformer Figure", at the Pawtucket Arts Festival this year.
The exhibit will be held September 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the lobby of City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Ave. A speaking program is scheduled for 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be available and the public is invited.

“From Sketches to Product Development of a Transformer Figure" will focus on the new “Stomp and Chomp Grimlock” Transformers figure. The exhibit will highlight the toy's development from early renderings and models to the finished production piece.

Also on display will be original art from the model artist. A free drawing will be held for winners of two boxes of highly collectible Transformers toys featured at this year’s Comic-Con event.
“This first-time exhibit, organized by the city’s newly established Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture, should simply not be missed, particularly for children,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “Hasbro’s exhibit showcases the creativity of their toy designs and is an outstanding complement to this year’s Pawtucket Arts Festival.”
John Baxter, Arts Festival chairman, said, “We couldn’t be more excited to have Hasbro take part in this year’s festival and we are very grateful for their participation. This exhibit promises to be a terrific festival highlight, not only for children but also adults who grew up with the Transformers line that has continued to evolve in so many ways for over 30 years.”
Miriam R. Plitt, who chairs the Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture, said, “The culture of creativity at Hasbro is something that continues to inspire everyone in the city. Over the past 15 years, arts and creativity in numerous forms have also become a general driving force in Pawtucket as well as for the city’s economy, and celebrating that is what our annual Arts Festival is all about.”
Hasbro’s three-month exhibit is open to the public and can be viewed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
