Cranston’s Time Capsule: Old-School Comic Book Culture

What can spark the imagination like a good comic book? Multimillion-dollar movies, the ongoing quest of technological advancement, Robert Downey Jr's lifestyle, these are things inspired, embraced and reinforced by ideas delivered through comic books. Although the movies are fun and can ignite a very social atmosphere, there is no better way to obtain an understanding of such heroic characters, as Iron Man, than through reading comics.
And in Rhode Island, there's just the place to do that. The Time Capsule, a classic comics store in Cranston, is currently selling all of its back-issue comic books for $1 each. This is an incredible deal, considering most comic books sell for around $2.99.
One of a kind
The Time Capsule is truly one of a kind. It is a window through which one could observe the past present and future. Along with new and old comics, the shop houses an array of vinyl records, gaming consoles, classic VHS movies, and much more. This place is sure to take you down memory lane, with some of the earliest Superman comics as well as Elvis records. “My original 'Time Capsule Comics' establishment focused exclusively on comics," owner Robert Yeremian said. "I wanted my newer establishment, 'The Time Capsule,' to be about more.”

"The art of comics is among the few forms original to American culture.”
Collections being sold
Why the sale, now? The recession has caused an influx of people to flock to The Time Capsule to cash in their comic collections. “Our inventory is overflowing with recently purchased collections," Yeremian said. "We really just need to clear out our storage areas.”
