Paul McCartney Plays Fenway Park Sunday
Some of the biggest names in music are featured in our top picks in this week’s “5 Live.” We’ve got a Beatle, a top selling singing duo and a popular annual event from deep in the woods of Wyoming … Wyoming, RI, that is. Hall and Oates at Xfinity
Hall and Oates are among the best-selling musical duos of all time. According to reports, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members have been playing over three decades of their hits on the current tour. You’ll hear their Philly Soul roots come through with openers Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings along with Trombone Shorty Saturday night at the Xfinity Center. Paul McCartney at Fenway
Big happening at Fenway Park this weekend. First, tonight and tomorrow, Dead and Company will be jamming all night long. Singer/Guitarist John Mayer has been with the band for over a year now and continues to impress Deadheads. Sunday, Fenway hosts perhaps the greatest living rock star in history. Paul McCartney continues to tour to adoring fans spanning several generations. Macca’s Fenway show is officially sold out, but tickets are often released last minute. Check here.

Swamp Stomp Sunday
Swamp Stomp is described as “a big-ass backyard party with incredible music.” Four bands - The Yawpers, Water Liars, Laura Cantrell, and Girls on Grassweaty will play “roots-y rock & roll at a beautiful property situated in the swampy, backwoods of West Kingston, RI.” The show, organized by Boudin Dan of WRIU radio, has become an annual rite in South County. Music begins around 3PM – suggestion donation is $40. Ticket information and more details here.

Mainland at Waterplace
The Waterplace Park Summer Concert Series continue tonight with a show featuring the upbeat pop sounds of Mainland, a Brooklyn, NY based band. The band led by guitarist Jordan Topf, just released a new EP, Outcast. Don’t be late - catch some twang with openers Eric and the Nothing, a sweet sounding RI garage rock/doo wop band comprised of Eric Shane, Billy Moretti and Chuck Perry. Show begins around 7PM and as always its free!

King Friday
Tonight check out some good time rock and roll with King Friday playing Fat Belly’s in Coventry. The band, back together for “one night only,” will be rocking covers and originals from their repertoire of alternative, classic rock, blues, dance and reggae. The well-known RI band will also be introducing 16-year-old Stevie Marsocci on guitar. Music starts around 9PM and its free!
