Darlene Love Friday
Darlene Love brings her Christmas show to the Park Theatre in Cranston tonight, December 9. Click here for our interview with Love, known for her “Wall of Sound” vocals on songs like “He’s a Rebel” and “Wait till My Bobby Gets Home.” She’s a legend that you don’t want to miss. Alchemy Saturday
Alchemy is a new club on Richmond St. in Providence that has put together a nice line up of local and national “indie” bands. A little bit of everything awaits this weekend starting tonight, Dec. 9 with the sounds of Rah, Nobody's Boyscout, Cat Has Claws and Bella's Bartok. Return to Alchemy Saturday night for more great music with Strange Chances, Great Blue, Fish Market Stew and Lee Ross. It’s a virtual indie music extravaganza! Details here.

Blackstone River Christma
A popular annual show returns to Cumberland Saturday and Sunday as the Blackstone River Theatre’s Christmas celebration arrives. The concert includes music, dance, spoken word, caroling and more. Performers include Torrin Ryan, Cathy Clasper-Torch, Mary Lee Partington, Aubrey Atwater, Ed Sweeney, Kevin Doyle, Josh Kane, Bob Drouin, Russell Gusetti, Elwood Donnelly, and dancers Nicolette Haug, Kathryn Grupp, Erika Damiani and Tess Keenan. The Swamp Meadow Victorian Carolers will also be there. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show. More information can be found here.
The Figgs Saturday
The Figgs are a rock band from Saratoga Springs, NY who play in the tradition of The Kinks, The Beatles, NRBQ and The Ramones. They recently released 1,000 People Grinning: The Figgs Anthology, a celebration of their 25+ years together. They’ve backed Graham Parker among others - don’t miss a special show Saturday night in the comfortable confines of The Parlour in Providence. Winter Warmer at Lupos
A major show comes to Lupo’s next Wednesday Dec 14 and it’s a benefit for Girls Rock RI, a volunteer based non-profit that uses “music creation and critical thinking to foster empowerment, collaborative relationships, and the development of healthy identities in girls and women.” The WBRU Winter Warmer includes a female-heavy line up with modern rockers Warpaint, K. Flay and Joseph. Show is Wednesday December 14, and tickets start at $15 in advance, $18 day of show. Music starts around 8PM.
