Veterans Day is when we appreciate everything the men and women of the armed forces have sacrificed for our country. With that said, there are plenty of events going on around the state of Rhode Island to honor veterans and their families. The events range from parades to 5K's to cemetery dedication's and more.

Providence

RI Latino Professional Business Network's "Celebrate Veterans" Event

Representative Robert Lancia and Senator Juan Pichardo will co-host the RI Latino Professional Business Network's sixth annual "Celebrate Veterans" event that is set to take place on November 12th in the State House Rotunda. The event will go from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Park View Veterans Day 5k

The 3rd Annual Park View Veterans Day 5k run/walk as well as a 1 mile kids run will be held at Roger Williams Park starting at 9:30 a.m.

North Kingstown

5th Annual Women Warrior luncheon

The 5th Annual Women Warrior Luncheon at Quidnessett Country Club. The luncheon will run from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. with single tickets costing $50.

All the proceeds from the lunch will help provide housing and services for homeless women vets at Operation Stand Down's Holly Charette House.

Veterans Day Ceremony

Ceremonies at Veterans' Park Bridgeway, Pascoag will begin at 11 a.m.

Ceremony at Rhode Island Veterans' Home

At 8:30 a.m. there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the Rhode Island Veterans' Home Memorial Garden and a dedication to Sgt. McKenna.

A veterans council ceremony mass will take place at 10 a.m.

Veterans Day Observance

Veterans Day Observance will take place at 11 a.m. at the United Veteran's Armed Forces Park on Davison Street.

That will be immediately followed by the Museum of Work & Culture's annual Veteran's Day Event.

The Exeter Public Library will present a Dedication of a Veterans Memorial at 3:30 p.m.

Brown University Ceremony

Brown University will host a ceremony horning Brown and Rhode Island communities who have seeved the country in the United States Military. The ceremony will be held at the Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle at 12 p.m.

Pawtucket

Pawtucket City Hall Ceremony

The City of Pawtucket along with the Pawtucket Veterans Council will honor veterans of the United States Military with a ceremony outside of City Hall at the Ampitheater which is located next to the Fire Department.

There ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.

Cemetery Dedication

A burial section and monument have been put in place in the Resurrection Cemetery for the interment of Veterans and their family members.

The cemetery dedication will take place at 10 a.m.

East Greenwich

Veterans Day Paade
The Veterans Day Parade will take place starting  from Academy Field and will go to First Avenue for a wreath laying ceremony at the corner of Cliff Street. The parade will then go North on Main Street the Town Hall for a closing ceremony.

The parade begins at 10 a.m.and is expected to conclude around 11 a.m.
