Two Ku Klux Klan groups have lengthy membership applications—and checking off that you are white and angry about other races doesn’t cut it.

The United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan has an exhaustive application form that asks if you believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God,  the U.S. Constitution as originally written, have ever served in the military, and are a registered voter.

No photo attached? Your application will automatically thrown out.

The Imperial Brotherhood of Klans wants to know your weight, height, hair color, eye color, marital status, and how many children you have before accepting your membership. Ever been discharged from the military? Convicted of a felony? Received any kind of government assistance? The Imperial Brotherhood needs to know.

Loyalty Oath Also Required

Once the application is all filled out, you have to swear loyalty to the Klan and take an oath that all the information is correct.

“I swear to be loyal to the Sacred Order, Brotherhood of Klans, Inc. Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and its members and to my race,” the statement reads. “I swear to follow the Constitution and Laws of this Order without hesitation. With God as my witness, I solemnly swear that all answers are correct and complete to the best of my knowledge.”

Hate Groups Don't Give Out Contacts

Just getting in touch with hate groups to get information about becoming a member can be difficult. When our GoLocalProv researcher e-mailed the webmaster for the national Council of Concerned Citizens asking whom he could contact in southern New England—he received only a terse one-line e-mail with a phone number and no other information.

“We generally require that people join first before we (hand) out contacts,” wrote the webmaster, who signed his message as Kyle Rogers.

Our researcher also contacted a prospective member of the United Northern and Southern Knights on one of its message boards and asking him how to join—but the man wasn’t sure.

“I am considering joining the klan, but I haven't heard a thing from them. If you know anything let me know. your brother, Randall,” the man replied.

Signing up for the third hate group with a Rhode Island chapter - North East White Pride - appears to be a little easier. You have to pick a username, provide your e-mail, and register as a user.
