It's time to go pink in Rhode Island, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks off. Pick your favorite ways to support the cause, in our guide to events.

September 28-October 31: Panera Bread's Pink Promotion
Purchase a Pink Ribbon Bagel, Power of Pink Bagel Pack, or say "Cater Pink" when ordering from the catering menu, and Panera will donate a portion of sales to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.

September 29-October 11: Paint the Mall Pink
Providence Place Paints the Mall Pink with an exclusive mall-wide Pink Sale in honor of Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.

October 1: Yoga for Breast Cancer
11 AM to 12:15 PM, Class 3 in a 6 week program. This class is for all with a special outreach to women of color. Free for survivors, patients and family members. Classes are held at the Providence Healing Arts Studio, 2162 Broad St., Cranston.

October 1:  3rd Annual Northern RI Shades of Pink Auction Fundraiser

3PM to 5PM  A Taste of Yoga with Maya Breuer at Rhode Island College Diversity Week.

October 7: Pink Martini Night at Hyatt Regency, Newport
5:30 - 8:30PM  For a $20 donation at the door, guests can enjoy delicious Pink Martinis, a complimentary bra fitting, a Beauty Bar makeup station and more, while raising money for the fight against breast cancer. All proceeds from the Stillwater Spa’s third annual Pink Martini Night will benefit Hyatt Regency Newport’s partner, the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in Pawtucket, to support breast cancer education. The hotel will be lit in pink lights, and the party will feature a cocktail hour, spa treatments, silent auctions and more. Also featured during the special evening is the Boob Project Art Installation by artist Jill Buffington, and Stitches of Hope, a 150-foot pink scarf knitted by local volunteers that will be disassembled into shorter scarves to keep local cancer patients warm during treatments. $20 per person; 851-1234; www.newport.hyatt.com.

October 7: Flames of Hope: Your Passport to Survivorship Conference + Opening Ceremony

The Gloria Gemma Foundation's Flames of Hope weekend begins with Your Passport to Survivorship conference on Friday from 8am to 2pm at the Providence Marriott, with celebrated humorist Loretta LaRoche and Dr. Alice Domar, prominent mind/body health expert.  Admission to the conference is $50 or $25 for cancer survivors.  The fees include breakfast and lunch.
 
That evening, the Opening Ceremony for Flames of Hope will take place with a pink ribbon cutting, a healing arts exhibit and unveiling of the 2012 "Celebrate Hope, Celebrate Life" Calendar.  The calendar features survivors in scenic areas around the state photographed by renowned Rhode Island photographer Richard Benjamin. NBC10's Health Reporter/Anchor Barbara Morse Silva will unveil the calendar.

October 8: Flames of Hope Block Party, Pink Party, WaterFire
Saturday programming will begin at noon with the Kids & Family Block Party, a family-friendly event presented by Storage America that will include balloon-making, healing arts sponsored by Radiology Associates, and other fun activities.
 
Celebration Village at Station Park, located across from Providence Place Mall, will include the United Healthcare Zone with merchants, interactive health screenings, and 5K-registration; a Healing Garden Pavilion sponsored by Whole Foods Market; and an Education & Wellness Pavilion presented by RI Medical Imaging with breast health sessions, family friendly cooking demos, and fitness exhibitions.
 
Saturday evening's Pink Party, presented by ARS, will feature the Edwards Twins, nationally renowned impersonators.  Food will be provided by Via Roma Restaurant.  A limited number of tickets are available for $50 per person.
 
The Illuminations of Life Ceremony will begin the evening's WaterFire at 6:30pm.  The Illuminations of Life Ceremony will take place at Station Park and feature a reflective ceremony of music, a performance by the State Ballet of Rhode Island, and guest speakers.  Survivors, friends, and family members will carry lit torches from Station Park to the Waterfire Basin to light the evening's Waterfire.  The evening continues with exhibits and activities in Celebration Village, including the TD Bank-sponsored Breaking Boards for Breast Cancer with Mastery Martial Arts at 9pm, and a live concert featuring Santa Mamba.  A special edition of the WPRO Morning News with Tara Granahan and Andrew Gobeil -Live from Flames of Hope Village will take place from 5-8pm.  The show will be a live broadcast, interviewing sponsors, survivors, and others throughout the evening.

October 9: Flames of Hope: Gloria Gemma 5K
The Gloria Gemma 5K will begin with 8am registration and an event start of 11:15am.  For an additional fee, interested participants will have access to Pink Glove Service, sponsored by TD Bank.  Pink Glove Service includes free bag check-in, private check-in, free massages before and after the race, and extended breakfast foods. The Pink Glove Service is limited to 200 people.  WPRO's Bekah Berger will preside over the 5K opening ceremonies, joined by WEEI's Mikey Adams, Barbara Morse Silva, and WCTK, Cat Country's Jake the Cat mascot.  Proceeds of the 5K will support the STAR Program, a new statewide effort to develop rehabilitation protocols and programs for all cancer patients, a program of Oncology Rehab Partners.

October 9: Sunday Evening Pampering Event: The Body Shop
7:00PM  Sunday Evening Pampering Event: The Body Shop, Providence Place Mall. Open to Survivors or anyone going through treatment. Hot hand and arm massages, mini facials, treats, goodies and gifts to CELEBRATE everyone who is sharing this event with us.

October 12: Exercise at Gold's Gym
7:30PM  Exercise at Golds Gym at 1527 Smith Street, in North Providence.

October 12:  Help Whip Cancer at Jacky's Galaxie
5:30PM to 10PM  The Hope Bus will be offering Reiki and information at Jacky's Galaxie, 383 Metacom Ave., Bristol.

October 13: Think Pink for Gloria Gemma at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon
Think Pink for Gloria Gemma at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, 52 Pine St, Providence.

October 15:  Pink Event at Studio Exhale
