Hit the Roadhouse, Jack: the inspiration for Rick's Bacon & Bourbon Dinner

It's going to be a meal fit for a king... and a beverage equally royal.

 

Rick’s Roadhouse, that stalwart ribs and burger joint in Providence's Jewelry/Knowledge District, is hosting its first Bacon & Bourbon Dinner on Thursday, December 1st.  Guests will be lead through each selection of Tennessee Whiskey as they are paired with a four-course dinner.  A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m.; dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $39.99 per person including tax and gratuity and tickets must be purchased in advance.

No stranger to whiskey

There is no better place to have come up with this event. Rick's 36-foot bar, made of the same oak used to age whiskey barrels and then toasted to replicate the inside of whisky barrel features the state’s largest selection of whiskeys with more than 60 choices, including single barrel bourbon, single malt, single batch, small batch bourbon, and vintage ryes, from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Canada.  Staying true to the roadhouse theme, whiskeys are offered “by the finger.”

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour featuring a selection of hors d'œuvre, including Chicken Fried Bacon with sausage gravy; Bacon & Beef Sliders with special sauce; and BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza, all served with Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade, Jack & Coke, and Jack Daniels Honey & Iced Tea.

Dinner will begin with Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Belly with tostados and Gentleman Jack, the only whiskey in the world to be Charcoal Mellowed twice before going into the barrel, giving it smoothness with a full-body of fruit and spices and a warm finish. A second course will feature Bacon Wrapped Scallop with Ham & Parmesan Risotto, complemented by the robust taste and toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel notes of Jack Daniels Single Barrel.

The evening’s entrée will feature Baby Back Ribs with black strap molasses BBQ sauce, Celeriac mashed potatoes, and jicama slaw and Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, offering notes of cream-toffee and honeycomb and a palate of subtle spices.

Dinner will conclude with Jack Daniels Devil Cake with maple-bacon ice cream and passion fruit, paired with Jack Daniels Honey & Ginger Beer.
