Longtime Providence City Clerk Anna Stetson Dies at 69

Anna M. Stetson, age 69, passed away April 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Nunzio and Carmella (Zanni) DiCiolla.

Anna worked for the City of Providence for over 30 years. She had a passion for the City of Providence and love for its culture and tourism. She was proud to have served as the City’s Clerk and RI President of the New England clerks association before retiring in 2012.

She was the loving mother of Bryan and Kristopher Stetson; beloved sister of Christine Falcone, Anthony Jacobs, Judi Graham, Nancy Rossi, and Frank Diciolla; cherished grandmother of Bryan, Brennan, Braydan, and Kristopher; and great-grandmother to be of baby Sal. She also leaves her daughter in law Kerri Stetson and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held and Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave, Providence. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
