Celebrity Chef Jonathan Waxman at A Tasteful Pursuit June 12
Bacaro Restaurant Chef Brian Kingsford and Co-owner and Beverage Director Jennifer Matta will join event chairs Ken Romanzi, the Chief Operating Officer of Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., and his wife Milly to host Share Our Strength’s A Tasteful Pursuit at Bacaro Restaurant. The dinner brings together some of the nation’s hottest chefs in a touring dinner series held at top echelon restaurants across the country. Mr. and Mrs. Romanzi are chairing the event as a personal extension of Ocean Spray’s national sponsorship of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Families Feeding Families
“In 2010, Ocean Spray started the "Families Feeding Families" campaign in partnership with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign to raise awareness about childhood hunger in America,” said Mr. Romanzi. “The professional commitment I’ve made with Share Our Strength to end childhood hunger in this country has inspired me to become personally involved. It’s painful to think that more than 17 million children in America can’t count on getting the food they need. Hosting this dinner is one way Milly and I can raise awareness of this issue in our own community.”

On June 12, Chef Kingsford will gather top chefs from Rhode Island and around the country to create a masterful multi-course menu paired with exquisite wines. Mixologist Chris Amirault of Cook and Brown Public House will blend specialty cocktails at the evening’s cocktail reception. Chef Jonathan Waxman, one of the top four chef contestants on the second season of Bravo’s Top Chef Masters will be traveling from his New York City restaurant Barbuto to participate. Chef Jason Santos, runner-up in the seventh season of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen and soon-to-be chef/owner of Blue Inc. in Boston will round out the culinary headliners.
“Having a career in the food industry, it's really hard for us to imagine children in America that don't have access to the food they need to grow and thrive.” said Host Chef Brian Kingsford. “We believe that the only hunger a child should have is the hunger for knowledge."
