Who has the biggest bank account in New England? 

Natinonally, Forbes Magazine has put out a list of "185 Clans with Billion Dollar Fortunes" --  and nine New England families made the cut.

So who's got the gilded coffers in the Northeast?  Overall across the U.S, the Walton Family in Arkansas takes the country's top honors at $152 billion with the Wal-Mart fortune, with the Koch family a "distant" second at $89 billion.

In Massachusetts, the top net-worth family is Boston's Edward-Johnson clan, landing at 5th overall in the country at $39 billion.  Following in Massachusetts are families who owe their fortunes to supermarkets and convenience stores -- and across New England, that includes construction and apparel companies.

Norman Hascoe was the president and founder of the investment firm Hascoe Associates. Hascoe was a financier and engineer in the semiconductor industry. Hascoe served as president of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.

Hascoe and his wife Suzanne donated a part of their personal collection of Czech art to the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut.
