OSHEAN Support Engineer Knight-Barber Receives Scholarship to Internet2 Technology Conference

OSHEAN Inc. support engineer Jacqueline Knight-Barber has been awarded an Inclusivity Initiative Scholarship to attend the Internet2 2019 Technology Exchange conference in New Orleans in December.

“Jacqueline is a valuable member of the OSHEAN team, and we are proud that she has won the Internet2 scholarship to attend Technology Exchange. This is an exciting opportunity for her to gain greater insight into the technical issues she addresses daily, and to make connections in the industry,” said David Marble, president, and CEO of OSHEAN.

The scholarship covers travel expenses and conference registration costs.

About Knight-Barber

Knight-Barber is a support engineer at OSHEAN, where she is responsible for frontline member support and internal escalation processes.

She works in-depth on optical, IP, video, security and cloud technology issues, coordinating with engineers internally and at the network operations center in Indiana to oversee the maintenance of the OSHEAN network.

The Scholarship

The Internet2 Inclusivity Initiative Scholarship was started in 2014 to provide support for emerging female information technology professionals to attend Internet2 technical conferences, to help them succeed in the field.

The conference Knight-Barber will attend is the 2019 Technology Exchange, which convenes technology visionaries from around the world for three days of presentations and discussions about the next generation of federated trust and identity, information security, and advanced network design.
