“I am honored and humbled to be chosen as the Entrepreneur of the Year NE, but it takes a whole company’s dedication to innovation that really moves it ahead”, said Mendell. “MIKEL has successfully navigated through the vast changes in the DOD’s funding and technical priorities and now stands at the cusp of delivering the next generation of undersea navigational systems with its evolutionary Submerged Acoustic Navigation Systems (SANS) technology.”

In 2018, Pagan appeared on GoLocal LIVE where she talked about founding Rebelle, which serves hand-formed bagels, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and coffee on the corner of Camp Street and Doyle Avenue on the East Side of Providence.

“I wanted a really creative approach to making bagels, with everything done from scratch, and pushing the limits of what people’s imagination of what a bagel could be," said Pagan.

With a background in chemical engineering, Pagan puts her science skills to good use to pinpoint her perfect bagel recipe.

Up for National Honors

They are now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 National Awards.

Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced Thursday, November 19, during a virtual awards gala.
