Former WPRI Meteorologist Muscatello Announces Her New Vice President Position

In February, former meteorologist Michelle Muscatello announced she was leaving WPRI 12.

On Thursday, she announced her new job. 

"I’m excited to announce I’ve joined @DeltaDentalRI as Vice President of Communications and External Affairs," she announced. "The company's commitment to giving back to the community and proven track record in the industry drew me to this great opportunity."

Delta Dental announced the following: 

"Delta Dental of Rhode Island is pleased to announce Michelle Muscatello as the new Vice President of Communications and External Affairs. As a member of the senior leadership team, Muscatello will oversee the marketing and communications department, and is responsible for the organization's communication strategy, philanthropic efforts and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

An Emmy Award – winning communications expert, Muscatello spent the past 18 years at WPRI/WNAC-TV as a meteorologist and reporter. In the fast-paced world of television news, she became skilled at effectively communicating important and timely information on multiple media platforms, including television, radio, web and social media. Throughout her career, she has earned the trust of executives, colleagues and community members through a highly polished and accurate live presentation.

"Her experience in journalism and communications, coupled with her philanthropic work and talent for building relationships as a highly respected leader in the Rhode Island community, make her a great addition to our organization. Muscatello is a member of the RI Advisory Board for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, where she has served for the past seven years. Additionally, she volunteers countless hours of her time and skills with local schools, businesses and non-profit organizations, including Meeting Street School and Project Undercover. In addition to her volunteer work, she has received several honors and awards for her broadcast work, including a 2022 Emmy Award and 2022 Best of Rhode Island award in the female meteorologist category. She has also been nominated for a 2023 Emmy Award.

Muscatello holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from the University Of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a certification in meteorology from Mississippi State University."
