Mulhern Out at Cat Country 98.1 — Pursuing New Opportunities in Podcasts and FB Lives

Brian Mulhern is out at Cat Country 98.1 — and he took to social media this week to announce the news. 

“This is not the return to FB that I was expecting to make. I was informed this morning that I will no longer be a part of the radio station. The only thing that needs to be said is thank you from the bottom of my heart to any and all of you who have made me a part of your morning routine for lo these many years. It has been both an honor, and a privilege. Here's hoping we get the chance to do it again someday soon,” said Mulhern.

It marks the latest for the shake-up in the regional media market — in October, a number of layoffs were reported at Beasley Media Group, whose stations include 98.5 “The Sports Hub” and Country 102.5 WKLB.

Following his announcement, Mulhern’s Facebook page was filled with supporters who were disappointed to hear the news. 

“As I'm getting many requests to start doing FB lives or a podcast, I'm currently fielding multiple offers from talented friends you all know who'd like to do one with me,” said Mulhern on Tuesday, hinting that he might already have something in the works.
