Former RI General Treasurer and Lt. Governor Roger Begin
F.L. Putnam Investment Management Company announced that it has relocated to a new office in downtown Providence and former Rhode Island General Treasurer and Lt. Governor Roger Begin has joined the firm.

The company announced a veteran management team.

The Team

Thomas P. Fay, CFA®, has been appointed as Regional President for Rhode Island; former Rhode Island Lt. Governor, Roger N. Begin, CFP®, will serve as Private Client Advisor; and Marianne Pursley, CFP® has been hired as Investment Advisor.

Fay will work directly with Manning and the existing Providence team, led by Glen Martin, CFP®, to grow the firm's existing client base in Rhode Island.

He will also oversee all local market operations for F.L.Putnam.

Tom Fay is a seasoned financial services executive with over three decades wealth and investment management experience. Mr. Fay most recently served as Regional President at BNY Mellon where he led the wealth management group for the Southern New England region. Prior to BNY Mellon, he was Chief Investment Officer and Head of Private Bank and Trust at Citizens Bank. Fay spent most of his early career in various investment management positions at Bank of America, FleetBoston Financial and Shawmut National Bank. A Rhode Island native, Mr. Fay is involved in several local community organizations. He serves on the Rhode Island State Investment Commission, is Chair of the Board of Governors of the Boys and Girls Club of Providence and is a board member of the Providence Performing Arts Center and St. Luke's Church Finance Committee. Fay is also an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Providence College.

Roger Begin is a trusted and respected community leader who has spent more than 35 years working for the people of Rhode Island. Begin started his career in the public sector, serving as General Treasurer for the State of Rhode Island from 1985-1989 and as Lieutenant Governor from 1989-1993. For the past 25 years, Begin has worked in the wealth management industry helping clients solve problems and fulfill their financial goals. He most recently served as a Senior Wealth Director at BNY Mellon in Providence. Prior to BNY Mellon, Begin served as Private Client Advisor at Bank of America. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation. An active member of the local community Begin currently serves as Chair of the Rhode Island Hospital Foundation, VP, Board of Governors of The University Club of Providence, and Honorary Trustee at Bryant University.

Marianne Pursley has more than 20 years of wealth management experience. She most recently served as Senior Wealth Manager at BNY Mellon in Providence. During her tenure at BNY Mellon,  Pursley worked closely with high-net-worth individuals and families to develop comprehensive wealth plans to achieve their financial goals. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation. Pursley is active in the Rhode Island community serving on the board of the Providence Children's Museum and Community Prep School and as a Trustee of the YMCA of Greater Providence.

Glen Martin is a 35-year veteran in the financial services industry. He joined F.L.Putnam in 2016 and currently serves as a Private Client Advisor in Providence helping clients develop financial plans to build, protect and transition their wealth. Prior to F.L.Putnam, Martin spent 30 years at Bank of America and its predecessor organizations, most recently as Market Executive of U.S. Trust in the New England market. At U.S. Trust he also served as Market Executive for the State of Rhode Island, where he led a team of advisors focused on delivering wealth and investment management services for private clients. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation. Martin is a board member of Family Services of Rhode Island and previously served as President of the Bryant University National Alumni Council.
