Your Brows – Frame or Foe?

Your Brows – Frame or Foe?

Are your brows bewitching frames for your eyes or do they just reveal what decade you're living in? Jean Harlow’s pencil thin brows shout 1930’s, and Brooke Shield’s bushy jungle screams the 1980’s. Brows always trend back to a more natural look over time and here in the 21st century, we like full brows but only if they are groomed and tamed. Case in point: Beautiful Kate Upton has full brows slightly duskier than her blond locks, but what keeps them new and fresh and so now, is that they are trimmed and neat. The deeper color gives her face more definition too, an oft-forgotten task of brows. So how do you get a seductive brow look? Check out our tips:

Go Pro

Everyone has a natural brow silhouette and a professional waxer or threader is trained to discern yours. Later, you can follow the line with your own at-home grooming. Make an appointment and ask to be shown your most natural shape and how to keep it going.

Larger than life

In mirrors that is. You don’t need a gazillion plus amplification but a great magnifying mirror will take the fear factor out and prevent bad brow days (or rather….weeks).

Tweezing – the slippery slope

Plucking is quick and easy but be careful not to get carried away. Completely perfect symmetry never really occurs in nature and you could end up overdoing it (Jean Harlow?). A tiny bit of tweezing in between a bi-monthly trip to your professional of choice, is all you need.

Color between the lines

Especially as we age, brows need a little filling-in. You'll be amazed at how just a bit of enhanced color can prevent that washed-out look. Think instant facelift. And when you choose your color, don’t go overly dark which will compete with your beautiful lipsticks and shadows. You’ll risk looking theatrical (or worse, hysterical). Remember, the color is for filling-in, not painting-on.
