What we are finding is that most want a look that was staged for hours before the actual shoot. However, there is a way to achieve an everyday wearable look like the ones we all fall head over heels for in those glossy pages and illuminated screens.  Why stop there? Why not become the models in these images if only for a day, then take something away from the whole experience like a great haircolor, or cut, or a great makeup application trick you knew nothing about, or even what clothing best suits your body type?

In the upcoming months we will be running a statewide model search contest which will be a fun way to glam it up for the camera, own some great shots, and pick the minds of insider professionals. Tune for details to come!

Now back to being that model for the day...

1. When going to your stylist for a look, make sure you dress the part. Remember the words: I will never get my hair to look as good as this right now... I hear it every day behind the chair so it would be wise to dress up and make up, and then have someone shoot some great pics of yourself so you can have an image to live up to and study. It will give you a boost to achieve the look on your own.

2. Ask your stylist to show you in depth how she achieved your look. Even if you retain one thing, it's one thing you did not know how to do.

3. Try different looks even if you are not used to wearing your hair or makeup a certain way. Experiment! Tally how many compliments you recieve throughout the day!

Happy new look-ing!

From Sex and the City 2 to Rachel Getting Married, from The Sorcerer's Apprentice to Bride Wars, Frank Barbosa has styled some of the biggest celebrities in film, TV, and theater. He's just finished styling on location alongside film stylist Alan D'Angerio on the film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner. He's been in the industry for 17 years, moving from hip neighborhoods in Chicago, to Boston's Newbury St, to Bellevue Avenue in Newport. He maintains that his real passion, though, is being behind a salon chair at Frank Antonio Hair and Makeup in Newport.
