U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is scheduled to visit the Ocean State today, to tout the economic benefits of outdoor recreation and conservations as well as offshore wind energy developments.

Salazar will be joined in his tour by the state’s Congressional delegation—Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and U.S. Representatives Jim Langevin and David Cicilline.

Earlier this morning Salazar and the members of Congress were scheduled to meet with Governor Lincoln Chafee at Quonset Point to discuss offshore wind energy. At 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, the Interior Secretary will meet with community leaders and National Park Service officials to discuss the John H.
