NEW: Gas Prices Up for First Time in Six Weeks

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up this first week of the new year, after falling for six straight weeks, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s January 3 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.35 per gallon, three cents higher than last week. The current price is eight cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.27. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.15.
