NEW: Gas Prices Up 9 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up nine cents this week, the ninth consecutive week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s February 27 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.77 per gallon, nine cents higher than last week. Prices locally are up 20 cents over the last month. The current price is eight cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.69. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.36.
