Democratic State Senate candidate Frank Lombardi has easily won his heated battle with Republican Sean Gately in the District 26 race to replace retiring Senator Bea Lanzi.
Lombardi, a member of the Cranston School Committee, faced a slew of attacks in recent months from Gately, who painted the Democrat as insider who showed little regard for the taxpayer.
Gately was also endorsed by Fight Back RI, the PAC formed by Marriage Equality Rhode Island (MERI).
