NEW: Feds to Seek Death Penalty for Jason Wayne Pleau

Monday, June 18, 2012

The feds will seek the death penalty against accused murder Jason Wayne Pleau, authorities announced today.

Pleau is accused of killing a gas station attendant outside of a bank in Woonsocket nearly two years ago.

The decision comes after the state was forced to turn Pleau over to the feds against Governor Chafee’s wishes. Chafee, who does not support the death penalty, was concerned authorities would seek to execute him.
