LIVE: Providence Improv Guild Turns Five Years Old

Melissa Bowler
Over the past five years, the Providence Improve Guild (PIG) has grown to become a non-profit organization and comedy destination in Providence.

“We’ve grown so much over these five years, and we want to honor the art that connects our community,” says Executive Director Melissa Bowler.

Whether it’s creating friendships, building confidence, or increasing empathy with participants, Bowler says improv has many benefits besides generating comedy and laughter.

The Providence Improv Guild is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a party and improvisational comedy show “PIG Revival: Re-engage, Re-activate, Re-entertain” on August 26 at the South Side Cultural Center in Providence.

Tickets are $20 and donations to PIG are fully tax-deductible.
