LIVE: Brown Students Developing Drone Delivery Technology

Brown University senior Aaron Zhang and sophomore Jacob Dyer started A2Z Drone Delivery, a project that has business and technology potential that could compete big name drone delivery players like Amazon and Flirtey.

Zhang says that safety is a huge factor in their technology development, as they work with drones and the delivery mechanism.

Dyer and Zhang have a patent pending for the tethering system in their drone. Rather than landing the drone, a tether would drop the item down and deliver the item to people. 

Dyer says he thinks within 7-10 years there will be a lot more drone delivery on the market.  

He says the two of them work to “push the boundaries of new technology and and bring something that can add tons of efficiency to things we are currently doing.”
