The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau is helping Pokemon Go players navigate the city with a blog series on its website. The series highlights Pokestops in popular Providence neighborhoods. 

The first blog series launched on Friday and features the Riverwalk in downtown Providence. The series will continue over the course of the next week and will cover the following areas. 

·         Federal Hill

·         South Main St/Roger Williams Memorial Park

·         Downtown Providence

·         Benefit Street

·         The State House area

·         The West Side

·         Wickenden Street/India Point Park

·         and other hot spots.

Pokemon Go 

Since its launch on July 6, millions have downloaded the Pokemon Go app. The game uses augmented reality, driving gamers outside to hunt for Pokemon, collect items at Pokestops, and battle  other gamers at gym locations. 

Downtown Providence and surrounding areas has over 200 Pokestops, 10 gyms and many different types of Pokemon.

Food Truck Friday 

It's Food Truck Fridayt at Roger Williams Park Zoo at Carousel Village from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Enjoy great food, live music and a beer garden tonight and every Friday until October 28. 

The event is free to attend, but there are nominal fees to ride the carousel, participate in pony rides, or to enjoy the bounce house.
