PPAC announced Monday its 37th Anniversary Broadway Season lineup, bringing hit musicals such as Cinderella, Camelot, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to the Ocean State.

The 2014-2015 lineup begins with Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, which is launching its National Tour Opening here in Rhode Island, and marks the Providence premieres for shows I Love Lucy! Live on Stage, Dirty Dancing, and Kinky Boots. PPAC's Encore Series also sees the return of Blue Man Group and Cirque Dreams Holidaze to the state.

“Each season, PPAC consistently brings first-class Broadway productions to the people of Rhode Island," says Joseph W. Walsh, Esq., Chairman of PPAC’s Board of Directors. "More people are able to experience the magic and wonder of Broadway; next season will be without exception!”

“Our 37th Season is filled with ‘timeless tales of hope and heart’ from Broadway,” adds PPAC President J.L. “Lynn” Singleton. “We are pleased to be launching the national tour of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella and to be bringing last year’s Tony winner for Best Musical, Kinky Boots to Providence."

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella

October 10 – 18, 2014

Launching its national tour here in Providence, this Tony Award-winning musical comes from the minds behind Broadway hits such as The Sound of Music and South Pacific. The re-imagined fairytale musical features songs “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible / It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago.”

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

November 4 – 9, 2014

The biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and a coat of many colors comes alive through the music of Andrew Loyd Webber. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, this new production casts Broadway stars Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray, Hair) as The Narrator and Ace Young (Grease, Hair) as Joseph.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze (Encore Series)

Get into the festive spirit this holiday season with the magic of Cirque du Soleil. Directed by Neil Goldberg, Cirque Dreams Holidaze boasts over 300 costumes, 20 acts and 30 performers from 12 countries performing a variety of holiday-themed acrobatic fun.

Camelot

December 9 – 14, 2014

Relive the tale of King Arthur, his lady Guinever, Sir Lancelot and the faithful Knights of the Round Table in this four time Tony Award-winning show. The musical's celebrated score includes the numbers “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “The Simple Joys of Maidenhood,” and, of course, the title song, “Camelot.”

I Love Lucy! Live On Stage

February 24 – March 1, 2015

Set in 1952, this inventive musical places viewers in the seats of the Desilu Playhouse during a live studio audience filming of two classic I Love Lucy episodes. Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel come to life alongside 1950 advertising jingles performed by the Crystaltone Singers.

Dirty Dancing

Nobody puts Baby in the corner. This musical production of the beloved 1980s classic recounts the tale of Johhny Castle and Frances "Baby" Houseman as they dance their way into each others hearts. Songs include “Hungry Eyes,” “Hey Baby,” Do You Love Me?” and “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”

Kinky Boots

June 8 – 14, 2015

The winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Kinky Boots follows a struggling shoe factory owner who turns his fortunes around with the help of a female performer in search of the perfect stilleto. Scored by Cyndi Lauper, this musical follows the unlikely pair as they set out to find love and fortune.
