Feeling artsy? RISD is.

The RISD Museum just announced its schedule of new exhibitions and programs for the fall and winter 2011-2012.

Some of the highlights: Made in the UK: Contemporary Art from the Richard Brown Baker Collection, featuring one of the largest collections of contemporary British art in the United States. Another is Japanese Buddhist Priest Robes from the Lucy T. Aldrich Collection, a garment exhibit displaying the striking and glistening priestly robes. Among a series of excellent talks, look for "Double Take: The Miseries and Misfortunes of War", where specialists from various fields discuss artistic representations of war. And as always, the Museum offers a wonderful series of musical performances this season, including Occidental Gypsy, a band which “fuses soulful sounds with contemporary Western themes.”
