What are you looking at? Get to know your backyard poultry this weekend in Scituate.

It's a true spring weekend in Rhode Island, with some fantastic outdoor events, combined with some indoor fun (if that rain comes as promised). We've got the five best ways to enjoy it all.

Backyard Poultry 101

Saturday  Ever want to know more about owning poultry? Get down to the Little Rhody Poultry Fanciers for a talk on proper care of poultry including what feed to give, how to prevent disease, which coops to choose, and everything you want to know! Some of the country’s foremost judges and experts in show poultry will be on hand to answer any specific questions you may have. Grange Hall, 706 Hartford Pike. A Garden of Quilts

All wrapped up: A Garden of Quilts features more than 100 artisan creations.

Saturday-Sunday  Come explore a sea of over a hundred unique, hand-made quilts at the Narragansett Bay Quilters' Association. Learn how to quilt, ask members questions, and partake in discussions, lectures, raffles, vendors, auctions, and other activities over the day. Imagination Playground

Friday  Let your imagination run wild at the grand opening of Imagination Playground, a play space devoted to children’s healthy development through exciting creativity and play! The week-long block-party opening encourages children to design their own games with props, inventing their environment. Paddlefest

Saturday Join REI for a Paddlefest, a day full of paddling! Explore the world of paddling sport by chatting with experts, picking up techniques and tips on what to paddle, buy gear, and visiting non-profits and paddling clubs to get prepared for the upcoming paddling season out on the water!
