Attack Website Launched vs. Chafee

With full knowledge that the Patrick Lynch and Frank Caprio Democratic Primary on September 14th will produce a bruised and bloody Democratic nominee for Governor, the Democratic Governor's Association is going on the offensive.
Meet SenatorChafee.com and ChafeesTaxPlan.com - the DGA's newest attack websites against Linc Chafee. They even have an affiliated Facebook and Twitter page as well.
The websites are, well, not so subtle.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTOn the Facebook page under "Activities," it lists the following: "Constructing plans to specifically tax amputee veterans, the blind, gas, oil, electricity, nursing homes, textbooks, school meals, renewable energy products, food, and pollution control facilities."
And, on SenatorChafee.com, the site sells its 2006 narrative (Chafee = Bush = Republican) but adds a new twist:
Lincoln Chafee is a conservative policy maker who voted in line with the Bush Administration 76% of the time. He advocated for, and voted in favor of, big business and corporations.
Those votes are a big reason why Rhode Island is facing financial hardship in the first place, and now he wants middle-class, disabled and visually impaired Rhode Islanders to empty their pocketbooks to fill the budget deficit?
And the twist. He's a "tax and spend" Republican!
Senator Chafee wants Rhode Island taxpayers to fix the state's budget deficit with a wide-ranging tax on previously untaxed items like textbooks, school meals, heating fuel, and, shockingly, the equipment that amputee veterans need to operate a car.
Call Lincoln Chafee at (401) 456-0003, and tell him to drop his proposed tax plan. Rhode Island is already paying the price for his votes as Senator. Help spread the word and use the form on the right to tell a friend.
Time will tell whether these attacks will scratch away at the consistent 35% that Chafee has been polling. Note: in a 4-way general election (Democrat, Republican, Moderate and Independent), 35% could very well be the winning number.
