Professional Boxer & Navy Veteran, Theodore “Teddy” A. St. Jean, Passes at 89

Theodore A. St. Jean, 89, of Pawtucket, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
He is survived by his companion of nine years Geraldine Greene, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence (McCaffrey) St. Jean, mother of his children, he was also pre-deceased by his second wife Janice Betty (Fowler) McKeen-St. Jean. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Philias and Margaret (Gabouary) St. Jean.
Theodore was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War and went on to work for Broadway Tire Company in Pawtucket for 14 years. More recently he was the proprietor of Saints Radial Tire Repair, of Foundry Street in Central Falls. Theodore retired in 2002. In his younger days, before his enlistment in the Navy, Theodore was a professional boxer and won the 1949 and 1950 New England Championships. He went undefeated for 18 consecutive professional fights. In addition to his passion for boxing, Theodore enjoyed playing cards, the beach and clamming with his sons and grandchildren, cracking jokes, and making people smile. He also loved to travel and was a member of Grundy’s Gym in Central Falls, for many years.
Theodore leaves five sons, Teddy St. Jean (Gail) of E. Killingly, CT, Louis St. Jean (Maureen) of No. Grosvenordale, CT, Timothy St. Jean (Robin) of Dayville, CT, Andrew St. Jean, and Bobby St. Jean (Rhonda) of Putnam, CT; three daughters, Lisa Dauphinais of Putnam, CT, Debra Beaudreau of Danielson, CT and Lori St. Jean (Steve) of Westerly; three stepsons, Michael McKeen, of North Providence, James McKeen of Simsbury, CT, and Steven McKeen of Torrington, CT; a stepdaughter, Sandra Deacon of North Providence; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Louis St. Jean and Theresa Parent.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Services on Saturday, August 28th at 9:30 a.m. at William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
