Woman Stabbed in Providence - Latest Violence in Chad Brown Area

It reportedly occurred in the area of the Chad Brown housing complex overnight.
A post-World War II housing project which was completed in 1951, the property is owned and managed by the Providence Housing Authority.

About Incident
Police say they were called to Rhode Island Hospital shortly before 12:30 AM Saturday morning for a report of a stabbing victim.
The victim — a female in her 20s — said she had been stabbed by a female in Chad Brown.
According to police, the victim underwent surgery.
Detectives are currently investigating.
Latest at Chad Brown
In February, a man was shot multiple times in the area of Chad Brown Street and Pembroke Avenue.
In December, the recreation area of the Providence Housing Authority property was riddled with bullets in a shooting.
As GoLocal reported at the time:
"In September, a woman was shot and taken to Rhode Island Hospital. The shooting took place on Admiral Street near the Dunkin’ Donuts — in the Chad Brown area.
In August, one of the three people shot in the Chad Brown housing project died. That death marked the city’s 11th homicide of the year. As GoLocal had reported, three men were shot on August 3.
On July 21, police responded to Chad Brown at March Street for a report of shots fired. Police said they spoke with witnesses who said they had heard gunshots and that a car fled the scene at a high rate of speed. According to police, more than a dozen shell casings were found at the scene, and multiple vehicles were found to have been struck by bullets.
On April 25, shortly after 1 AM, police responded to March Street off of Douglas Avenue for a report of shots fired. A woman on the scene told police she and another woman had been sitting inside a car when a sedan with tinted windows pulled up and opened fire. When the police arrived, they encountered one woman who was shot; the victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. March Street is in the Chad Brown area.
It is the same street in which a 15-year-old was shot and killed in April."
