VIDEO: Controversial Beverage: Students Speak Up

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Four Loko, the alcoholic-energy drink that is taking the country by storm, has become increasingly popular on college campuses in Rhode Island. Now that the University of Rhode Island has banned the drink on its campus, everyone is talking, especially the students. More recently, Senator John Tassoni, D-Smithfield, stated in a GoLocalProv article that the whole state should put a ban on the drink.

One 24 ounce can of Four Loko packs as much alcohol as three beers, but only costs fewer than three dollars. Even more shocking, it has even gained the nickname of  "cocaine in a can" by many students. GoLocalProv headed to local college campuses to see what students really thought about the drink's popularity and its possibility of being outlawed in the state. Watch the video to see what they had to say.
