Friday, September 27, 2013
It's like you died and went to heaven... beer heaven. The 5th annual Beervana Fest--the greatest collection of craft beer at a single event in RI--returns to Providence on Friday, October 18 for an exclusive tasting of over 150 world-class craft beers.
Billed as ‘Craft Beer Enlightenment’, the expo, in celebration of its 5th anniversary, will highlight wood barrel aged beers, since the 5th anniversary is known as the wooden anniversary. More than 75 beers in the show will be barrel aged, among a collection of more than 150 world-class specialty beers from over 70 breweries. Many of the featured products are rare and some only available for sampling in RI on that night, including Founders KBS, Firestone Walker Parabola, Goose Island Ramble Rye Bourbon County Stout, Sam Smith Stingo, Allagash James Bean, Cantillon Geueze, Revival 2013 Anniversary Double Black IPA, Newport Storm 13, and Walker Bros Prasada.
Providence Craft Beer Week
This event will be the finale of the 4th annual Providence Craft Beer Week, including events that ranged from neighborhood beer walks and bar promotions to tasting festivals, food pairings & educational beer dinners. Providence Craft Beer Week is a celebration of the city of Providence’s rich gourmet food tradition and its craft beer community--from the breweries and people who provide us with great beer; to the places we enjoy the amazing selection of beers available in our state.

"With Beervana, we hope to expand on that fan base and enlighten newcomers to the craft beer movement.”
“Providence has a growing appetite for more varied and exotic beers from the US and other parts of the world and we are exploring the plethora of beers that can be introduced to the consumer by getting their direct feedback,” said Brian Oakley, co-owner of Julian’s Restaurant, which is catering the event and known for its monthly beer pairing gourmet dinners.

Educational seminars by craft beer luminary Rob Todd, founder and brewer of Allagash Brewing Company as well as Dan Shelton of Shelton Brothers (renown importer) are part of the event.
Tickets are $50 in advance, while supplies last, or $60 at the door. Capacity is limited; attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets can be purchased online at beervanafest.com
