Beauty and fashion are what life is all about, right? For Ronnie Golden Engle that is entirely true. This Rhode Island native and fashionista extraordinaire owns RGE, a luxe boutique and beauty spot in Warwick. We sat down with her to get the details on one of Rhode Island’s most fashionable locales.
Rewind
Prior to being engrossed in the fashion world Ronnie grew up in Pawtucket and graduated from Classical High School. While in college in Boston she worked in a boutique on Newbury Street and became immersed in the fashion world. After working with Marilyn Riseman, a Boston society staple, Ronnie got married and started RGE in 1981. “It all started 30 years ago and we are still going strong. I love Rhode Island because it is small and manageable, bright and diverse,” says Ronnie.

RGE combines high-end fashion clothing with gorgeous accessories and handbags as well as a café. Beauty offerings include top tier hair, nails, massage and skincare. In other words, RGE is a one-stop shop for all things gorgeous and fabulous. “My favorite part of running my business has been meeting the great group of women who raise families, work in and outside their homes, support charitable endeavors of others…and I love clothes!” Some of Ronnie’s favorite designers include Marion Foale, Muir and Osborne, Vanessa Dedon and Angelika Lee.

Between traveling to fashion shows in Paris, Milan, New York, Tokyo and beyond and running her burgeoning business, Ronnie is always looking towards the future. “As long as I’ve got strength, there will be an RGE with me involved because I love my job. I joke with the young daughters of my clients that there could be a change of initials on that door in 20 years and the initials could be theirs!”
