Winter's Not Over Yet
A storm centered over Indiana this morning will race eastward and pass south of New England overnight and early tomorrow. With enough cold air in place we should see some accumulating snow, especially tonight and very early tomorrow. Any precipitation today should be light and in the form of light snow, light rain or both mixed together. The snow should come down at a moderate clip this evening and tonight. It will accumulate up to 3-6 inches in the elevated areas north and west of Providence and 2-4 inches elsewhere. The snow should be wet and slushy on sidewalks and roadways as temperatures will hover within a few degrees of freezing. The snow will taper to flurries for much of tomorrow. Even though it will be generally fair and storm free through the weekend into early next week it probably won’t warm up a whole lot with highs in the 30s and low 40s.
In spite of this setback spring will not be denied, just delayed for a while. After all this is New England.
