URI Runs by George Mason 80-60 at Home

IIt is fairly simple. The University of Rhode Island (URI) men’s basketball team blew out George Mason in the second half at the Ryan Center on Saturday. 

Fatts Russell led the URI Rams with 18-points shooting 6-12 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the 3-point line -- maybe his best shooting game of the year.

The Rams had nine different scorers and shot 52.8 percent as a team from the field.

STAT OF THE GAME: GMU was 9 of 29 for 3's.

The game was tied at the half 34-34 and then it was all Rams in the second half — outscoring George Mason 46-26.

Jordan Mitchell led GMU with 22 points.

The win evens the Rams at 7-7 (4-3 A-10) and the Patriots are now 6-6 (2-4 A-10).
