As well as PC played against Butler on Wednesday, the Friars 3-point shooting cooled against the Big East’s #1 seed Villanova Wildcats. The Friars shot just 25 percent.

The defending National Champions' constant pressure turned over the young PC team and came away with a 73-62 win.

For Ed Cooley’s Friars, the loss was disappointing, but the Big East performance was solid with a win over Butler and a highly competitive showing against the #25 ranked Villanova.

The Friars were led by Nate Watson with 15 points and Alpha Diallo and Isaiah Jackson both with 14.

A.J. Reeves led the Friars with 10 rebounds.

The Friars outshot the Wildcats 41 percent to 37 percent, but the 19 turnovers led to 24 Villanova points.

The Friars finish 18-15 on the season with a team that was dominated by the play of underclassmen. Highly recruited guards David Duke and Reeves were brilliant at points during the season and very freshman-like at other times. This loss will end PC's bid to go to a sixth consecutive NCAA tournament.
