RI State Rep. Sitting on $250K Jumps Into Attorney General’s Race
Solomon, in his press release sent out by a Washington, D.C. consulting firm, said:
“I’m not running to learn on the job. I’ve spent my career in the courtroom, making the tough calls as a bail commissioner and writing laws that protect Rhode Island families. I’ve already been doing this work, and Rhode Island deserves an Attorney General who shows up ready on day one.”

He prosecuted cases in the Warwick Solicitor's office and has served eleven years in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, where he chairs the House Corporations Committee.
He is the son of the late Warwick Mayor Joseph Solomon, Sr.
"Rhode Island families deserve to feel safe in their communities, protected from scammers targeting their loved ones, and confident their insurance company can't deny the care they've paid for. I've spent my career doing this work, and I'm ready to keep doing it as Attorney General," said Solomon.
Ahern was quick to comment on Solomon's announcement. She said in a statement, "I welcome Representative Solomon to the race for Attorney General, and I look forward to a spirited campaign and a substantive conversation about how best to keep Rhode Islanders safe. The Attorney General is the state's top law enforcement officer, and we need a prosecutor - not a politician - with a proven track record of putting dangerous criminals behind bars, defending our fundamental rights, and fighting for working families. That has been the focus of my entire career, and I look forward to spending the next year talking with families across our state about our vision for this important office."
