National “Paid Leave for All” Campaign to Kick Off in Providence With RI Congressional Delegation
Monday, August 02, 2021
The Rhode Island Congressional delegation will join community leaders on Monday morning as the "Paid Leave for All" campaign kicks off in Providence.
About Campaign
Paid Leave for All is the national campaign of organizations working to pass paid family and medical leave for all working people. The campaign is leading a cross-country bus tour this summer, kicking off in Providence and visiting 13 other cities around the United States, to call on lawmakers to pass a national paid leave policy as part of the next infrastructure bill.
"Paid family and medical leave is a critical policy to help American families, workers and caregivers, and to build our economy back better for all," said the campaign in a statement. "The U.S. is one of the only countries in the world that doesn’t guarantee any form of paid leave, yet paid leave enjoys broad bipartisan support as a top issue for voters in key battleground states heading into 2022. And now, after decades of advocacy, Congress has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass a national policy as part of the reconciliation bill in the coming weeks."
