As Elected Officials and Groups Call on Price to Resign, Others Decry “Cancel Culture”

A growing number of elected officials are calling on Rhode Island State Representative Justin Price -- who was at the domestic terrorism riots at the United States Capitol on January 6 and supported the actions -- to resign.
Now, one conservative advocacy group is leading the effort to stop what they call the "anti-American cancel culture."
On Tuesday, the College Democrats of RI shared the letter sent to Price, calling for his resignation "in light of participation in and support for the insurrection at the Capitol last week."

"According to your own (since deleted) Tweets, you marched to the Capitol with white supremacists you called “patriots," they wrote. "By supporting an attempt to thwart one of our democracy’s most vital traditions — the peaceful transfer of power — you failed to uphold the Constitution."
As GoLocal reported, "Late on Saturday night, Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner called on Price to resign his seat in the General Assembly and the GOP lawmaker fired back calling on the Magaziner family to “come clean” on its ties to the dead convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein."
Price has since deleted his Esptein-Magaziner Tweet.
Conservatives Fire Back
"They're canceling patriotic State Representative Justin Price," said The Gaspee Project on Tuesday. "Fight back!"
"The Gaspee Project's mission, according to their website, is to "return control of your lives to you - the people - by actively opposing the progressive and special-interest public policy agenda and by advancing pro-growth and pro-taxpayer solutions that can create more and better jobs via more and better businesses."
"The socialist-left and big tech have conspired with corrupt government officials to “cancel” pro-liberty patriots from exercising their freedom of speech rights on social media, from earning a living, and from fulfilling their elected positions as public servants," they wrote.
"You can take action by clicking on the link here now, or the button below," they wrote. "Don't wait, because your voice is powerful and it will make a difference."

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).
