ABC6 Launches “In the Arena” Hosted by Former Providence Mayor Joe Paolino.
ABC6 is launching the market's most dynamic political talk show hosted by former Providence Mayor Joe Paolino. The show title, "In the Arena” launches this Sunday. It is a cross between “Meet the Press” and the long running show on ABC6 that was hosted by the late Mayor of Providence Vincent “Buddy” Cianci.
The "In the Arena" panel includes former State Representative Ray Rickman, GoLocal CEO Josh Fenton, former Lt. Governor Thomas DiLuglio and former State Representative Amy Rice.

“WLNE honors its commitment to Public affairs programming. Sunday Morning's Six News on the Record has been a staple on ABC6 for many years. With host Buddy Cianci's passing we were exploring opportunity for the Sunday Morning time slot. Former Mayor Joe Paolino approached me with a different and unique concept,” Christopher S. Tzianabos, Vice President & General Manager of WLNE/ABC6. “That concept was to provide the perspective of those who were in the political Arena and now on the outside of the political game.”
“I am excited to be a part of the new show. Joe Paolino is the perfect moderator - he knows the game of politics from every angle and kudos to ABC6 for creating a new format for the market,” said Fenton who serves as a panelist on the show.
In addition to this new show ABC6 also features “Caught in Providence.”
The show is produced by ABC6's John Methia, Director of Broadcast Operations & Engineering.
