Democratic Congressman Jim Langevin won his 9th term on Tuesday night. Election results show a solid, but not spectacular victory.

Langevin beat back Rhue R. Reis (REP), Salvatore G. Caiozzo (Ind) Jeffrey C. Johnson (Ind).

“Serving the people of Rhode Island has been the greatest honor of my life, and I am so incredibly humbled and grateful that the voters have again put their faith in me. With the budget deadline looming and so many incredible challenges facing our nation – from income inequality to immigration reform – I am anxious to return to Washington and to get back to work on behalf of our great state. I also want to thank my General Election opponents, Rhue Reis, Sal Caiozzo, and Jeff Johnson," said Langevin.

The margins of victory for Langevin and Cicilline are important as there is the potential that Rhode Island could lose one of its two Congressional seats in 2020.

Langevin was re-elected with 55.7% of the vote in 2014 against GoLocal MINDSETTER Mike Riley.
