Veteran Derek D. Schneider Dies at 53

Derek D. Schneider, age 53, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Mulroy) Schneider. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Gary R. and Elizabeth (Daley) Schneider.

 

Derek was a partner in his family’s business, Wickford Insurance Agency, now the Hilb Group of New England. He loved golfing with his friends at Meadowbrook Golf Course and watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins, play on Sunday afternoons. He loved spending time with his children and his friends and was always sharing funny stories and making us laugh. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Derek served his country honorably during the Gulf War.

 

He was the loving father of Emily and Jacob Schneider; brother of Christopher Schneider, brother-in-law of Jennifer Schneider; and uncle of Hunter and Reagan. He is also survived by many dear friends.

 

A Celebration of Derek’s Life will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 4-8 pm in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd, North Kingstown. His burial will be private.
