Vanessa Lyn Smith-McCarthy, of Cranston, Passes at 40

Vanessa Lyn Smith-McCarthy, 40, of Cranston passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of Bryan G. McCarthy for six years.  

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Wayne C. and Donna (Paolantonio) Smith of Johnston.

Vanessa was part of the first female hockey team at Mt. St. Charles Academy and received the first penalty.  She was very artistic and enjoyed crafting and painting.  She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that would brighten everyone’s day.

Besides her husband and parents, she leaves her brother, Dallas R. Smith, and his wife Nicole of Johnston, and her nephews and niece, Jamison Knox, Lincoln Smith, and Arabella Smith.

Visiting hours are Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 4-7 pm followed by a funeral service at 7 pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915.
