Nancy Marie Connell passed away at the age of 70 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.  She passed peacefully at her home in Portsmouth, RI on September 13, 2021.

Born on September 20, 1950, in Newport, RI to the late Joseph and Marion (Wayson) White, she is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, John William Connell; daughters Meghan (Justin) Charest and Molly (Thad) Scarborough, both of Bristol, RI, and five grandchildren; Madison and Anderson Charest, and Tyler, Dylan, and Wyatt Scarborough.  She is also survived by her sister Patricia Lynch of Portsmouth and brother Leland White of Virginia, as well as the extended “Connell Clan”.

Nancy was raised in Middletown and attended the Middletown Public Schools. She furthered her education at Salve Regina University, and upon graduation, started her career in education.  Nancy taught first and third grade at Aquidneck School in Middletown for 30 years.

She was fortunate enough to retire at an early age and loved time spent at her “winter home” in Bonita Springs, FL. Here she established an extended circle of friends and was active within the Hawthorne Community.  Nancy spent her retirement with her children and grandchildren, shopping, going to the beach, and enjoying time with her many friends both here and in Florida.
