Rita E. Mullaney, of Smithfield, Dies at 99

Born in Goshen, New Brunswick, Canada, she was one of nine children of the late Harry and Teresa (Curran) O’Connor. She had lived in Smithfield for the past several years and had previously lived in Warwick.
Rita had worked for Narragansett Capital for many years before retiring. The most important things in Rita’s life were her faith, her family, and her friends.

Mullaney of San Pedro, CA. She was the mother of the late Carolyn A. Walsh and grandmother of the late Kathryn Banisch. She is also survived by her son-in-law Charles Walsh, her grandchildren: Cara O’Donnell, Ryan and Sean McHugh, Matthew and Andrew Banisch, her great-grandchildren: Kathryn and Caroline O’Donnell and Madison and Jack Banisch, her sister, Stella Fogarty, and her sister-in-law and best friend, Margaret O’Connor. She was the sister of the late Austin, Walter, Ethel, Raymond, Clement, Everett, and Murray O’Connor.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.
Burial will be private.
Visitation will be Thursday morning, 8:00-9:00 am.
